Lucia
Grillo
Lucia received her B.F.A. in Acting from New York University’s
Tisch School of the Arts and studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute
in New York for seven years. While at N.Y.U., Lucia minored in Italian literature
and was granted an Assistant Fellowship at the Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimo.
As an actress, director, and producer, she has worked extensively in theatre,
cinema and television, her most notable roles with director Spike Lee (Summer
of Sam and Finlandia Vodka spot, Sin) and actor, Vincent Schiavelli.
Her experience
includes Associate Producer of Film Festivals (LAIFA Los Angeles Italian Film
Awards, for which she also produced and directed the television spot and two
Special Tributes, which aired on RAI International and Italy’s TV2), and
guest lecturer (Tribute to Marcello Mastroianni, California Institute of Technology. “A
pena do pana (The Cost of Bread)” (AFI Fest 2004) is her first film as
a writer and director.
She is now developing two documentaries and a feature
film under the Calabrisella Films banner.
